For a couple of years now, we've been using RU plugins. They're super handy and really enhance the functionality of our redmine setups. Plus, the support team at RU has been quick to help us fix any plugin issues! Much appreciated.

As someone who casually uses Redmine software, I was used to the traditional on-site setup with a few neat features, one of which was the Checklist plugin from RedmineUP.

Now, I've got my own little slice of Redmine, complete with a custom theme (which doesn’t get updated too often) and a CRM plugin. These tools feel like they’re crucial for making the whole platform work as a solid project management and delivery solution.

However, it’s not all smooth sailing. While the support team gets a lot of love, there are definitely some drawbacks to the Redmine platform itself. The fantastic features offered by RedmineUP plugins can be overshadowed by the user interface. This is part of why there are numerous forks of Redmine trying to enhance the front-end to rival popular SaaS options. Consequently, there’s a steep learning curve since the non-interactive controls can be quite confusing, demanding more attention to documentation and support. Personally, I found editing deal statuses to be quite a hassle at first.

On the flip side, there are back-end API extensions that allow you to avoid navigating the UI when it’s unnecessary. The catch is that while tech-savvy folks can handle this, the outdated foundation might be a bit daunting for those who aren’t well-versed in web tech. This makes it more of a niche software for a specific audience.

These Plugins are total game changers! They make working way more efficient, and the support team is super helpful when you need assistance! Highly recommended if you're using Redmine!

I've collaborated with RU quite a bit throughout the years, setting up redmine for different clients and companies that are fed up with shelling out huge sums for minimal results. While Redmine isn't a catch-all solution, it serves as a solid base, and with RU's help, it can handle a lot of essential business functions while saving funds for other needs.
